Barry O’Connor, owner and founder of Green Machine Cleaning Company, got his start in residential cleaning in 1999 while working for a large west coast-based cleaning company. After experiencing an on-the-job cleaning product disaster involving bleach, vinegar, and drain cleaner, Barry realized that the mishandling of common household cleaning products—like those provided by his current employer—could potentially lead to unwanted in-home toxins that were detrimental to one’s health. What was the point of cleaning if the products used actually did more harm than good?
With steely nerves, an ambitious entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to help others, Barry founded Green Machine Cleaning Company in 2001. And, as they say, the rest was history.
